Instead of the embedded buttons you can use a specific kind of URL that just like the button will autocreate, "auto-submit", a Flattr thing on its first flattr. This is useful for when you can't use javascript on a site (or don’t want to) – just create a static link to an auto-submit URL instead.
The URL format for submitting a thing is the following: (newlines added for better visibility)
https://flattr.com/submit/auto?\
user_id=[USERNAME]&url=[URL]&title=[TITLE]&\
description=[DESCRIPTION]&language=[LANGUAGE]&\
tags=[TAGS]&hidden=[HIDDEN]&category=[CATEGORY]
Note: The thing will submitted to our catalog when it’s flattred for the first time.

Create a 'Flattr API Documentation' thing. If it already exists a 'Flattr API Documentation' thing that thing will be displayed. If no thing exists we will autosubmit the thing. When you get your first flattr we will create the thing. This means you won't be able to see all your autosubmitted things until they get their first flattr.
Line breaks are added for better visibility.
